Your Best You

Each of us was placed on this earth with this certain set of gifts and talents that we are to discover and then share with the world.

Often the barrier to discovering those talents has to do with our focus on what’s outside rather than cultivating ourselves inside. Too often we get wrapped up in the thoughts, opinions, or even expectations that others have placed upon us. When these distractions arise then it’s up to us to remember that we always have control over ourselves.

We have control of our day and how we spend our time. We have control over how we handle our thoughts and where we place our energy.

The line of success is always changing but if you are focused on developing within yourself the line disappears and you’re all the better.

Being your best keeps you grounded, gives you a richer life experience, and is a far better measure of success. We never win whenever we compare ourselves to someone else. It all falls back on the fact that we each have our own unique set of gifts and talents. There is always someone smarter, richer, or in better health.

Our best chance of living a balanced life and to get out of all the craziness is to place our energy into becoming our best selves.

You serve yourself and those around you when you begin to compete with yourself by setting goals and working each day to reach your aspirations. Expect goals to change as you grow.

Just as we see the plants and the trees around us grow toward the sunlight, we too are meant to reach our higher selves. When we focus too much on what other people are doing or what they are not doing, we lose and become only a shadow of what we could be.

Realizing that you must only compete with yourself should give a sense of calm and ease any anxiety because you know where you’re headed because you are in control of that ever-changing goal post.

Start today and give yourself permission to be your best you. Start simple with just one by first thing in the morning when you wake up. Remind yourself that you are enough, all is well, and that you only must focus on being your best you.

Being loving toward others is great but learn to become especially loving toward yourself for a balanced life and biz.

Take heart and remember …

“Your competition isn’t other people. Your competition is your procrastination. Your ego. The unhealthy food you’re consuming, the knowledge you neglect. The negative behavior you’re nurturing and your lack of creativity. Compete against that.”
